Privacy Policy

App Name: Fix My Spot
Data Fiduciary: RTwo Automata LLP
Contact: grievance@r2automata.com

1. PURPOSE OF THE APP

Fix My Spot is a civic-tech application designed to help communities maintain cleaner, safer roads. The App utilizes live camera feeds and Machine Learning (ML) to automatically detect and map specific civic issues like litter/garbage, potholes, and stray animals on public roads. This data is visualized on maps to assist volunteers, NGOs, and municipal authorities in clean-up and shelter operations.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

A. Data You Provide

To provide our services, we collect account information including your name, phone number, and email address, which are used for authentication and to coordinate volunteer activities. When you utilize the App's camera mode to report issues, we process report data consisting of live imagery (image frames captured by your device’s camera to detect objects), precise location data (GPS coordinates of the detected issue), and associated metadata such as the timestamp and the specific type of issue identified (e.g., "Pothole" or "Stray Dog"). This data enables the accurate mapping and tracking of civic issues for community resolution.

B. Automatically Collected Data

When you access the App, we automatically collect certain technical information to ensure optimal performance and security. This includes device-specific details such as your hardware model, operating system version, and network connectivity status. Additionally, we maintain usage logs that track your interactions with the App, including the frequency of your detection activities and the volume of civic issues you report, to help us analyse trends and improve our services.

3. HOW WE USE "LIVE CAMERA" & MACHINE LEARNING

Our App utilizes an on-device/cloud-based Machine Learning (ML) model trained specifically to detect civic objects (such as litter, animals, and potholes) and infrastructure. We do not use facial recognition technology, nor do we actively target, identify, or profile individuals. While street-level imagery may incidentally capture pedestrians, faces, or vehicle license plates, our ML model is strictly configured to focus on identifying the specified civic issues and generally excludes non-relevant data. To the extent any incidental personal data is captured, we employ automated safeguards (such as data masking or blurring) to obscure identifiable details before any imagery is made publicly visible on the map, ensuring that raw images containing identifiable persons are not retained longer than necessary for processing and validation.

4. HOW WE SHARE DATA

We share verified issue locations and non-sensitive imagery (such as photos of potholes or debris) by plotting them on a public map using the Google Maps Platform, making this information accessible to volunteers and partner NGOs for resolution efforts. Additionally, we may share aggregated data or specific incident reports with relevant municipal corporations, such as the Public Works Department or animal shelters, to expedite repairs and rescue operations. To support these services, we utilize trusted third-party cloud and mapping providers (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Google Maps API), who process data solely under strict confidentiality agreements to host our infrastructure and render maps.

5. LOCATION SERVICES

The App requires access to your precise location (GPS) so it can accurately pin reported civic issues (such as garbage, potholes, or stray animals) on the map. Location is accessed only while you are actively using the camera/reporting feature in the foreground, and the App does not track your location in the background when the App is closed. Where required under applicable law, we process location data based on your consent, and you can withdraw consent by disabling location permission in your device settings (noting that doing so may prevent map-based reporting features from functioning).

6. YOUR RIGHTS (DPDP ACT 2023)

7. SAFETY & ACCEPTABLE USE

The App is strictly intended for civic reporting and must never be used to endanger yourself or others; specifically, you agree not to operate the App while driving or navigating unsafe traffic conditions, as your personal safety is paramount. Furthermore, the App must not be used for surveillance, stalking, or intentionally photographing individuals without purpose, and any such misuse to track persons violates both our Terms and applicable privacy laws.
